With the cool weather we are experiencing these days, nothing more comforting than snuggling on the couch enjoying a cup of real hot chocolate:
For a 6 oz cup, you will need:
- 50g of your favourite Single Origin or Spiced Drinking Chocolate
- 130ml of milk (or dairy free substitute)
Tip: You can substitute the Drinking Chocolate powder by a Single Origin or Spiced Chocolate Bar.
Preparation (if you have a coffee machine with milk steamer):
- Pop the chocolate powder and 80% of the milk/dairy free alternative into the steaming jug
- Stir gently for a couple of seconds until the chocolate is floating around freely
- Using the milk steamer, heat the milk until the chocolate is completely combined. This should take 25-30 seconds.
- You should have a jug of smooth, foamy hot chocolate with no ‘bits’ of chocolate. Nearly ready!
- Add the remaining 20% milk and stir to combine, to bring the temperature down. If serving to a child – you might prefer to add more chilled milk at the end.
- Sit down in a comfortable chair or couch, and enjoy your hot chocolate!
Preparation (if you don’t have a coffee machine with milk steamer):
- Pop the chocolate powder and 80% of the milk/dairy free alternative into a pot
- Stir gently for a couple of seconds until the chocolate is floating around freely
- Heat the milk on the stove while continuously stirring, until the chocolate is completely combined.
- You should have a pot of smooth, foamy hot chocolate with no ‘bits’ of chocolate. Nearly ready!
- Add the remaining 20% milk and stir to combine, to bring the temperature down. If serving to a child – you might prefer to add more chilled milk at the end.
- Sit down in a comfortable chair or couch, and enjoy your hot chocolate!
Get creative! Add a sprinkle of spices (we recommend cinnamon or sea salt), or decorate your hot chocolate with chocolate shavings – the options are endless!
