He had travelled a long way from his desert home on the Arabian peninsula. On his old dhow, he sailed many seas, following the stars, endured many storms, climbed many mountains, crossed many forests, fought many monsters. He traded spices from east to west, and always kept a collection of seeds in his pocket. The seeds of fruits, flowers and spices from around the world; to grow back home.
His travels led her to the countryside of Andalusia, where he planted and carefully nurtured the seeds he had collected along the Spice Route, in his secret garden surrounded by tall walls.
Many moons later, in his secret courtyard, fragrant flowers, fruit trees, fragrant herbs and nuts grew in rows behind the high walls of the garden alongside fountains that were harvested and enjoyed, covered in a thick coating of chocolate.

All of our Secret Spice Garden products are wrapped in Nomadic Aitch’s artwork, an artist who originally hails from Romania but prefers not to put down roots in any one place. New scenery inspires and invigorates her tactile, folky illustrations and a constant string of exhibitions in cities across the continent pushes her technique further. Her dreamy characters hide amongst William Morris-esque gardens and bring to mind a bright and bold reincarnation of Victorian melancholy while still retaining a strong sense of her Romanian heritage.
