For Dubai Design Week 2017 – Mirzam have worked with two incredibly talented Emirati female artists, to develop a selection of wrappers – as well as an exciting new recipe.
#DXBDW17 MIRZAM x DESIGNEDBYHIND: 3 DESIGN EDITION WRAPPERS
As a special edition for Dubai Design Week, Mirzam have partnered with craftswoman Sheikha Hind bint Majed Al Qassimi to create a series of design edition chocolate bar wrappers inspired by her porcelain brand ‘DesignedbyHind’, specifically drawn from the Tumenah Collection.
The three wrappers (and decorative sleeve) each have been crafted with a pattern taken from traditional gold jewellery worn by Emirati women. On the original luxurious porcelain plateware, the intricate patterns are raised in the porcelain without colour, resulting in an elegant design that’s all at once complex and simple.
Applying the patterns to the Mirzam chocolate bar wrappers, high cotton content paper was used with a deep embossing block, recreating the multidimensional effect of the porcelain. Explore more of the designers work here: http://designedbyhind.com/
#DXBDW17 v2: SHEIKHA WAFA HASHER AL MAKTOUM X MIRZAM: 55% SPICED CAMEL MILK
Working with the artistic energy of designer and multimedia artist Sheikha Wafa bint Hasher Al Maktoum, Mirzam is excited to share a second wrapper collaboration project – together with unique recipe developed: 55% Spiced Camel Milk!
This gentle milk chocolate has been crafted from bean to bar by the Mirzam Chocolate Makers, with the tiniest pinch of saffron and cardamom added to the blend creating a truly Arabian flavour.
The wrapper design is Sheikha Wafa’s well known camel tesselation, created by the artist previously – and reimagined in this interpretation with the colours of the ocean and desert hand painted.
